The Fundraiser for the Sancious Piano - 12/4/2022

David Sancious is an American Rock & Roll HOF musician. He is a multi-instrumentalist known mainly for playing keyboards and guitar.

David, in the early 1970’s, was living in Belmar with his mother, Stella Sancious.

David was into the Asbury Park music scene. It’s where he met Bruce Springsteen. Bruce put together a new band, including David. In the band's early days, Springsteen and his bandmates used Stella Sancious’s garage at 1107 E Street to practice.

The name stuck.

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band were eventually inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

The Belmar Arts Council is sponsoring a community fundraising event to purchase a weather proof, outdoor piano to honor Stella and David Sancious to be placed in Pyanoe Plaza at 9th & Main Street.

The event is a $50 donation. The fundraiser is to be held on December 4,2022 from 12PM-5PM at the Taylor Pavilion between 5th & 6th Avenues at the Boardwalk on Ocean Avenue.
